A new release of VEDICS (VEDICS-beta-0.2) was done today. A major bug related to Usability has been fixed in this release. This defect was the main reason for the poor performance and defects of VEDICS-beta-0.1. Here is a summary of changes in this release:
- There was a major bug in VEDICS-beta-0.1 which impacted the usability of VEDICS. This bug has been fixed.
- Fixes in Installer so that VEDICS appears in Applications->Universal Access.
Note: VEDICS requires Assistive technologies to be turned on. Turning this on requires a re-login. However, there is an existing defect in Ubuntu 10.04 due to which microphone stops responding when the user logs out and logs in. To avoid this problem, it is recommended that the system be restarted once the installation is completed.
